Privacy Policy
Effective: 17 October 2026
This policy explains how we handle data in Sobtivo mobile apps — including Sobtivo: Quit Smoking on Google Play — and on the sobtivo.com website. If the Polish and English versions differ, the Polish version prevails.
In short: what you enter in the app is stored only on your phone. You don't need an account, we don't send your entries to our servers, we don't show ads and we don't sell data.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Krystian Sobolewski, creator of the Sobtivo apps and brand (“we”). For any privacy matter, email kontakt@sobtivo.com.
2. Data in the app
Information you enter
To calculate your progress, the app asks for a few details, such as your quit date and time, cigarettes per day, cigarettes per pack, pack price and currency. You can also save your own notes, goals or reasons for quitting.
This information is stored only on your device. We don't transfer it to our servers and we have no access to it. The app doesn't require an account.
Information about smoking habits may relate to your health. Because it stays on your device and never reaches us, we do not process it as a controller.
Android backup
If Google backup is turned on for your phone, Android may automatically save app data to your private backup in your Google account so it can be restored, for example on a new phone. Google provides this feature under your account settings; we have no access to that backup. You can turn it off in your phone settings.
Notifications
The app can send reminders and motivational notifications. They are generated on your device. You can withdraw notification permission at any time in your phone settings.
What the app does not do
- it doesn't show ads or use the advertising ID,
- it doesn't collect your location, contacts, photos or files,
- it doesn't sell data or share it for marketing,
- it doesn't track your activity across other apps or websites.
3. Purchases and Premium subscription
The core features are free. You buy the Premium subscription through Google Play. Google processes the payment — we never receive your card or other payment details. The app receives from Google Play only what is needed to unlock Premium: whether the subscription is active, which product was purchased and a technical purchase token.
Google's processing is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Data on sobtivo.com
Hosting and logs. The website runs on Cloudflare. Each visit involves processing technical data such as IP address, browser type and request time, which is needed to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
Cookies. The website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. Cloudflare may set technical cookies needed for bot protection. A technical sobtivo_preview cookie is used only by the site administrator to preview the site during development.
Email. If you write to us, we process your email address and message to reply. Mail sent to sobtivo.com addresses is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to the mailbox we use.
5. Purposes and legal bases
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Processing a purchase and unlocking Premium | performance of a contract — Art. 6(1)(b) |
| Delivering and protecting the website | legitimate interest — Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Replying to your message | legitimate interest — Art. 6(1)(f) |
| Newsletter | consent — Art. 6(1)(a) |
| Handling complaints and legal obligations | legal obligation — Art. 6(1)(c) |
6. Recipients
We don't sell data. Data may be shared only with service providers we use:
- Google (Google Ireland Ltd.) — Google Play store, payments and subscriptions,
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) — website hosting, protection and email forwarding,
- the email provider we use for correspondence.
We may also disclose data to public authorities where required by law.
7. Transfers outside the EEA
Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States. Both participate in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and use Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
8. Retention
- App data — on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Purchase information — for the duration of the subscription and as long as required by law (e.g. tax and consumer complaint rules).
- Email correspondence — up to 2 years after the matter is closed, unless needed longer to defend legal claims.
- Cloudflare technical logs — for the period set by Cloudflare, usually short.
- Newsletter — until you unsubscribe.
9. Security
App data is kept in the app's private, sandboxed storage protected by Android's security mechanisms. Communication with the website and Google Play uses encrypted connections only (HTTPS/TLS). Our contact mailbox is protected with a strong password and two-step verification.
10. Data deletion
You can delete all app data at any time without contacting us:
- on your phone: Settings → Apps → Sobtivo: Quit Smoking → Storage → Clear data,
- or simply uninstall the app — data stored on the device will be removed.
To cancel Premium, open Google Play: Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
To delete data we hold (e.g. correspondence or a newsletter address), email kontakt@sobtivo.com. We will delete it within 30 days, except information we must keep by law (e.g. relating to complaints). Step-by-step guide: Data deletion.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, restrict processing, data portability, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing). To exercise these rights, email kontakt@sobtivo.com.
You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO, ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warsaw, uodo.gov.pl) — or with the authority in your country of residence.
12. Children
Sobtivo apps are intended for adults. They are not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
13. Changes
We may update this policy, for example when we add new features. The current version is always available at https://sobtivo.com/en/privacy-policy/, and the date at the top shows when it was last changed. We will announce material changes in the app.
